Derek & Heather || Goshen Wedding

June 6, 2019

'"Hello, this is Kay Jewelers." I saw his face go completely red. "I can't talk right now" he said. "That's fine. I was just calling to let you know your ring is ready to be picked up." "Ok bye!" He put the phone down, looked over at me and said, "please tell me you didn't hear anything." I was so excited, I couldn't contain it and we both started laughing. He asked me if I wanted to go pick it up and of course I said yes!"

On their way to pick up the ring, Heather told Derek that he at least had to stop somewhere to propose and officially ask. So once they cruised into Nappannee, he pulled over by a cabin with a pond and got down on one knee to pop the question. Later as Heather was telling me this story she said, "I love our story because it resembles the fact that we just can't keep secrets from each other for very long."

After the proposal, Derek and Heather had an engagement unlike most as Heather left shortly after for National Guard basic training. A few days before she left, they decided to officially get married in their back yard since she would be gone for months. Surrounded by family, they exchanged vows and said "I do" for the first time.

A few months later, they were back at the alter for round two; this time, in front of a crowd of friends and family. Although they had technically been married before, Derek and Heather were still filled with excitement and nerves for their special day. This day was filled with so many special touches like the best friends beside the bride and groom, the first look prank made by the best man, the wedding ring Derek specifically design for Heather, and the unique boots they both wore. I honestly don't think this day could have gone smoother or have been filled with more love.

Derek and Heather, thank you so much for letting me part of your big day! It has been so great getting to know you both on more of an intimate level and watch the love you two have for each other grow. I hope that as you look through these images, you get to joyfully relive this day and think back on all the fun you had!
