"He asked if I could help him with his homework...I later realized that was an excuse to talk to me." Ricardo and Lydia met at Bethel University (formerly Bethel College) in an Old Testament class. They started out as homework buddies and then it eventually led to something more. Although it was not love at first sight, they both felt something special from the beginning.
From the moment they started dating, they created a tradition of going apple picking at a near-by orchard every fall. This past fall was no different. As they were heading to the orchard, Lydia noticed Ricardo was a little dressed up for the occasion, but decided not to say anything about it. As they were walking through the trees, he handed her a beautiful apple that was cut in half and hallowed out. Inside was a little key and a heart charm with a lock in it. When she looked up, Ricardo was down on one knee with a ring in his hand. And of course, she said yes!
Congrats you two!! Thanks for letting me share this special moment in life with you. I cannot wait to see you at the wedding!
